Cardiosurgery

OFFICE

OPERATIONS

DOCTORS

In office highly skilled cardiosurgeons work. Doctors help patients with coronary heart disease, the acquired, congenital defects, heart new growths, an infectious endocarditis, with disturbances of a heart rhythm and cardiomyopathies.

The office is equipped with the modern hi-tech equipment: cardiopulmonary bypasses, intra aortal balloon counterpulsation, device EKMO, two rentgenkhirurgichesky complexes. In plans acquisition of a new rentgenkhirurgichesky complex and the multispiral computer tomograph which will allow to diagnose more difficult pathologies and to carry out unique operative measures.

Thanks to introduction of modern techniques of diagnostics and treatment, cardiosurgeons klinikiprovoditsya unique operations: endovascular closing of defects of partitions of heart, endovascular elimination of arrhythmias, operations of coronary shunting, prosthetics of valves with elimination of arrhythmias at once at one patient. Bimammarny shunting takes root, repeated heart operations are carried out.

Coronary artery, mammary coronary bypass surgery

Description

Indications

Preoperative examination

Rehabilitation

It is a heart surgery when one or more narrowed coronary arteries are bypassed with graft vessels (shunts). It is done to restore a normal blood flow in the heart arteries. Vascular grafts (shunts) are taken from the patients themselves; these are their own arteries and veins located inside the chest (internal mammary arteries), or the leg (greater saphenous veins), or inside the arm (radial arteries). The grafts vessels bypass the place where the coronary artery is blocked and deliver blood providing oxygen to the ischemic area.

The surgery prevents sudden cardiac death, reduces the symptoms of angina and reduces the risk of heart attacks. The surgery  lasts 3 to 4 hours.

All surgical procedures take place in a surgery unit equipped with the required modern equipment.

1. Single- or two-vessel ischemic heart disease accomponied by proximal lesion of the anterior interventricular artery

2. Triple-vessel coronary artery disease

3. Left coronary artery lesion (isolated or one-vessel, устье/ствол)

4. Left coronary artery lesion +  two-or triple-vessel ischemic heart disease *Hemodynamically significant stenosis (≥50%)

The full recovery time is 1 to 3 months.

Implantation of rate-adaptive single-chamber and dual-chamber pacemakers

Description

Indications

Preoperative examination

Rehabilitation

The surgery is performed to treat bradycardia. The main purpose of the bradycardia treatment is to increase the heart rate and, accordingly, improve blood flow and circulation. In most serious cases, when there is a threat to the patient’s life, doctors use the only effective procedure: implanting cardiac pacemakers which are special electric devices that maintain a normal heart rate and reduce the risk of death.

The surgery lasts about 30 minutes.

All surgical  procedures are performed in the surgery unit equipped with the required modern equipment.

- symptomatic bradycardia due to sinus node dysfunction.

- symptoms of chronotropic incompetence.

- symptomatic AV conduction disturbances.

- first- and second-degree AV block in patients having the sinus rhythm with pauses of 3 seconds duration or more or the ventricular contraction rate less than 40 beats per minute while awake.

- atrial fibrillation with pauses of 5 seconds duration or more while awake.

- before radiofrequency ablation of the atrioventricular connection.

- recurrent syncope due to spontaneous stimulation of the carotid sinus and ventricular pauses of 3-second duration or more during carotid sinus massage.

The hospital stay does not exceed 5 days; the rehabilitation program  starts on the first day after the surgery.

The full recovery time is 1 month.

Coronary artery stenting for acute coronary syndrome with ST-segment elevation or with non-ST-segment elevation

Description

Indications

Preoperative examination

It is a procedure to expand the damaged vessels of the heart to the normal diameter; it is carried out with the help of a stent - a thin cellular tube which has a balloon at the tip and it is inflated inside the diseased artery.

This is the most sparing and organ-preserving method of treatment which does not require open surgery, using a heart-lung bypass machine and anesthesia. The procedure restores the lumen of the narrowed coronary artery with the help of special balloon catheters and stents (endoprostheses).

The surgery lasts about 30 minutes.

All surgical  procedures are performed in the surgery unit equipped with the required modern equipment.

1. It is performed through skin incision on the infarct-related artery accompanied with revascularization of the non-infarct-related artery in myocardial infarction patients with ST-segment elevation and multivessel disease .
